The approach we use is direct. Every
profession has a mindset. Through more than fifteen years of research, we
identified the mindset found in exceptional managers and leaders. Once the mindset was defined, we moved to develop a curriculum and
delivery method that greatly accelerates the acquisition of that mindset. Our premise is simple—great leaders are made, not born. They are made because they have a set of experiences in life. They have the ability to reflect on those experiences and to alter their behavior as a product of that reflection. Ultimately, they are able to effect change based on their insight into present behavior filtered through past experience. Imagine being able to capture the key "learning moments" of the world's most effective senior managers and leaders—those points in time when they made great leaps forward in their understanding of their unique roles. Being able to integrate and condense those learning moments into an experiential learning environment. Next, create a controlled process that provides for the delivery of critical leadership and management concepts, delivered within the experience precisely when participants need help clarifying their thinking about their roles. Then, provide real-time performance feedback on an ongoing basis. Finally, offer a functional tool that will serve as a guide in applying the newly acquired skills in each participant's professional setting—a tool that has been proven to help eliminate vagueness and abstraction from management and leadership contexts. The result is an intensely powerful management and leadership development experience. Each session is a product of the work LeaderPoint has done before the session begins—identifying the key components of the professional management mindset necessary for success. METHOD CONTENT PROCESS
The presence of all these elements creates a learning environment where participants can move easily between practice and performance, safely testing assumptions and acquiring new skills. Ultimately, participants have the opportunity to reflect insightfully upon their experiences, learning to think differently about management roles and functions. This new thinking can be applied directly to improving management and leadership skills. |
